Namaste: A Hindi greeting gone West

One of my favorite greetings is originally a Sanskrit one from South Asia that has now traveled across continents.  It’s Namaste.  Namas:  to bow; te:  to you.  I’ve read it also translated beautifully as ‘the spirit within me honors the spirit within you.’  What a profound change it would make in all of our lives to begin each exchange we have with someone during the day with a silent or spoken salutation, acknowledging and honoring them.

So I say to you…Namaste.
